Why me? welcome the Restorative Justice Council Guide for Prison Governors

Published: Thursday, March 30th, 2017

Why me? is pleased to acknowledge the Restorative Justice Council guide for prison governors on delivering Restorative Justice.

The report makes the case why prisons should be offering Restorative Justice which Why me? fully support.

Lucy Jaffe , Why me? Director, said:

We hope this will be used by all prisons to ensure Restorative Justice is more widely available across the prison estate. There is very strong academic evidence to show that high quality restorative justice will reduce the likelihood of reoffending in addition to helping victims cope and recover from the harm caused by the offence. We hope governors will see this as an opportunity to learn from partners and charities who can help them deliver this change.

We are also working in collaboration with Thames Valley Partnership in delivering Restorative Justice to London Prisons. If you would like to get in touch with our Service, please call 020 3096 7708
