Why me? on set and in the studio!

It’s been an exciting few weeks at Why me?! We have been on set and in the studio, recording Series 2 of Restorative Talks and producing a short film.
One of the biggest challenges we face as an organisation is the lack of awareness of Restorative Justice. After all, people can’t choose RJ if they don’t know what it is. Building on our successful billboard campaign earlier in the year, we are focusing more attention on large-scale public campaigns in order to reach new audiences and show them the transformative power of Restorative Justice. Recently, we have taken part in two exciting projects.
Series 2 of Restorative Talks is a chance to do just that. Series 1 explored what Restorative Justice is, how it works and what the future looks like. For Series 2, we will explore how Restorative Justice transforms lives by hearing directly from people who have gone through it. We often hear from our audience that personal stories are the most powerful way to communicate the importance of Restorative Justice. Our new series will place the experiences of three Why me? lived experience ambassadors – Andy, Sheldon and Will – at the heart of the podcast.

In addition to the podcast, we are thrilled to be teaming up with Media Trust and the Criminal Justice Alliance to create a short film. We can’t say much more at this early stage, but the short film is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to reach new audiences and spread the word about Restorative Justice through a new medium. The Why me? team had a fantastic time on set and we can’t wait to share the final product with you later this year.
