Restorative Justice: Unpacked
An introductory training session on what Restorative Justice is, how it works and how to recognise when someone might want to take part. You will be joined by one of Why me?’s Lived Experience Ambassadors who will share their experience of going through Restorative Justice after being harmed by crime.

- Hear about the power of Restorative Justice from one of Why me?’s Restorative Justice Ambassadors who has taken part in the process.

Restorative Justice Facilitation Training (Foundation Level)
Learn how to facilitate Restorative Justice, from the concepts behind the process to the practical skills needed for delivery.
- For a minimum of six people
- Suitable for those with little prior knowledge of Restorative Justice
- Delivered though online webinars and in 3 in-person days. Can be delivered across multiple weeks.
- Commissioning organisation to provide the venue.
- Restorative Justice Council accredited training course
Learning objectives:
- Learn how to make initial contact with participants and obtain consent.
- Understand risk assessment and how to prepare participants for a restorative process.
- Understand the different types of restorative process.
- Learn how to facilitate a restorative conference.
- Learn how to work with a co-facilitator, carry out follow up work and the importance of case supervision.

Restorative Justice Complex and Sensitive Training (Level 2)
Learn how to facilitate Restorative Justice in complex and sensitive cases such as hate crime, domestic abuse and sexual violence.
- For a minimum of six people.
- Suitable for those who have completed Foundation Level training.
- Delivered through online webinars and 3 in-person days. Can be delivered across multiple weeks.
- Commissioning organisation to provide the venue.
- Restorative Justice Council accredited training course
Learning objectives:
- Learn about trauma-informed delivery of Restorative Justice and the differences in approach when a case is complex and sensitive.
- Learn to identify potential risks to participants’ safety and wellbeing and the resources needed to protect them from these risks.
- Learn how to co-design a restorative process with participants, to ensure that their needs are met.
- Learn how to facilitate complex Restorative Justice processes and evaluate them.

How to communicate Restorative Justice effectively workshop
A half-day workshop to support those in contact with people affected by crime to help them talk about RJ, make their offer and support their communications, including exploring languages, cultural biases and myth busting.

- For a maximum of 20 people.
- Suitable for those who work with people affected by crime or work in the Restorative Justice sector.
- Delivered in half a day, face-to-face. Online option can be discussed.
- Commissioning organisation to provide the venue.

- Learn how to shape your messaging for maximum impact
- Create the resources you need and get the message out about Restorative Justice
- Learn how to make your communications accessible to a range of audiences
Prices starting from £1200*
Becoming a Restorative Justice Champion
An interactive, one-day course that will train attendees to be a Restorative Justice Champion within their organisation. It will be delivered in a range of classroom style, table workshops and skills sessions with a focus on delegate participation. On top of the one-day course, there is an option for Why me? to set up an ongoing network to support the RJ champions.
- For a minimum of six people to a maximum of 100.
- Suitable for those who may encounter people affected by crime, but do not deliver Restorative Justice as part of their role. E.g. police, probation, victim support services, charities, VLOs, IDVA/ISVAs, youth workers etc
- Delivered in 1 day, face-to-face. Online option can be discussed.
- Commissioning organisation to provide the venue.
Learning objectives:
- Understand the role of an RJ Champion
- Understand Restorative Justice, how it works and its impact
- Learn how to communicate RJ effectively
- Learn how to make the offer to people affected by crime
- Learn how to facilitate referrals and apply RJ thinking within your own service
- Hear directly from someone who has been through the restorative process
